Does your child get emotional at times?

Print this mood meter and keep it in your home where they can see it. Also, print one to bring with you when you away from home. Teach them that each color stands for a strong emotion,

Red- Angry, Yellow- Happy, Blue-Sad and Green- Calm. When they become emotional or upset, you can help them to identify how they are feeling, by asking them what color they are on the mood meter. Once they can tell you their color, it will be easier for them to tell you why they are feeling that way. This technique will help your child to identify and express their feelings in a healthy and productive way.

As they get used to the mood meter, you can introduce this one that has much more feeling identifying words. This will help them to improve their feeling word vocabulary, which will help them to express themselves even better.
