This is me and my 13 year old daughter Katie. She turns 14 in October and is going into High School this September. She is my middle child and sometimes is caught in situations where she doesn't have someone to hang with. For instance, on the 4th of July she came with us to a friends party that had mostly younger kids. She was a little bored but instead of complaining, she made due. She hung out with me and we wound up having a hilarious photo shoot. We titled it, "the many moods of us."
We were laughing so hard because these pictures are very true to our relationship. We could be smiling one minute, crying the next or having a really good laugh. It really depends on the minute or hour of the day. Having a teenage girl has been an experience that I would never ever of wanted to miss.
Katie is and has always unapologetically been herself. She doesn't make excuses for who she is and isn't one to follow along in a crowd just to be liked. She is kind to others and doesn't allow the unkindness of others to change who she is as a person. I'm so very proud of the young lady she is becoming. #shoutouttomygirl
